I'm flying to Paris on Wednesday. This will be my third trip of the year to Paris, and specifically the Aviation Club de France. The two previous trips have been successful, in so much as, I've stayed in a hotel for 2 months straight, lived like a King and came out with profit.

Depending on how the first couple of sessions go, I may rent an apartment and grind for a couple of months. I'll try to use the Aviation Club's free wifi and my PDA to update the site more frequently. In the mean time, check out Poker Shopping, the best website for poker chips.

Last night I watched the film 'A Good Year' starring Russell Crowe as Max Skinner. The film itself was not great, except for the 2 hot women, Abbie Cornish & Marrion Cotillard. One part that raised a smile was a flashback of Skinner's childhood. His Uncle asks him what he wants to do when he grows up and the boy replies, "Comedian or a professional poker player".

Whenever anyone asks me what my occupation is, I usually tell them that I'm a student because it's less hassle trying to explain how one makes money from a game everybody associates with unbeatable casino games. Hopefully with the emergence of the EPT and other televised poker events, the mainstream public in the UK will key in to the fact that a career playing poker is not only the stuff of childhood fantasy.

To protect my shrinking bankroll I decided not to go Vegas for the WSOP this year. I would have loved to have gone and played a few events, but it would have been a stupid move considering the massive variance in these thousand field tournaments.

Online, I've been 4-tabling $3-6 and 2-4 NLH on DTD. It's a struggle to get motivated when the stakes are so small, but you got to what you got to do. I am up a few thousand but at times I play like I have multiple personalities and in a few rash moments tilt away all the hard work.

Live poker - I may go to Newcastle to play the GUKPT event. The structure is supposed to be decent. After that I'll probably go to Paris for a few weeks. If you can't win in Paris, you suck at poker (edit: destined to run bad now I've written that).
