Thomas Fougeron

Thomas Fougeron is known as the 'Furious French man' to live poker players
and 'Fougan' to the online poker community. Fougeron is an excellent No Limit
Texas Hold'em player, who consistently goes deep in to major tournaments. He had
two cashes in the 2004 World Series of Poker and if were not for a horrendous
two-outer he may well have gone on to claim a World series of poker bracelet. A
13th place finish in the EPT Barcelona event in September 2005 rewarded him with
13,000. During this event he played some world class poker and was unfortunate
to run in to monster hands towards the climax. His fearless approach to poker
provided great entertainment when he called a large all-in raise 2 tables out
from the final table. Thomas held Ace King of Hearts, his opponent had pushed
all-in with 55. When the board brought an Ace, Thomas smelt imminent victory,
however a crushing blow as the 5 came on the turn. It was not all over yet
though, the crowd gossiped about the bad beat, unaware of Fougeron's runner
runner flush possibilities. The river heart was greeted by rapturous cheers and
applause, Fougan thrust his arms upwards in jubilant celebration.
Thomas Fougeron's Online Poker Screen Name: Fougan (OnGame, PokerStars)
Thomas Fougeron's Poker Nickname: The Furious Frenchman
Thomas Fougeron's
Poker Strength: Fearlessness & selective aggression
Thomas Fougeron's
Poker Weakness: Controlling emotions & fatigue
I first played Fougan at the $500 max buy-in No Limit Texas Hold’em tables on
PokerRoom, his aggressive style tore the game up to the point that fish became
an endangered species. I first meet him during one of the minor events of the
Paris Open of Poker in
2005. I’ve also played with him during super satellites in the
WPT Paris and
EPT Barcelona.
For someone with a daunting image his is an incredibly friendly guy who always
wants to talk poker. I have no doubt that he will pull of a huge tournament
victory some time soon.
